Elders — REJECTED
Elders — REJECTED
After countless of battles , after many years of service , after uncountable journeys and dangers they still stand. They are the embodiment of dwarfen stubbornness and martial knowledge. This is proved by their extremely long beards a proof of their age and experience. When they are present in a battle all the young lads look at them and try to prove their worth as they charge to the most frightening of enemies. Also who do not like big beards (stupid elves...)

Re: Elders
Jist think the elves.
The elfs have no visual upgrades for their units but they have the cheap normal archers, the flame archers and the (i will butcher this name) quick/ double? archers.
This unit follows this philosophy !

Re: Elders
In the Warhammer fantasy lore in the dwarf culture "longbeards" are the old veteran part of their forces, since dwarfs dont shave the older they get the longer their beards are, giving them a high sstatus in their society and a better conbat position.

Re: Elders
I don't like this idea much...
And i don't have ideas with what weapons and how do they look like.
Also another reason why i don't like this idea is because dwarven clerics have similar stats and disenchant.
If you want dwarves with long beards - we can make a veteran pack.
I will suggest stats later if you will like basic idea (elite dwarven warriors who came through tons of conflicts alive, they are fighting for years, elite unit pack of mithril-like stats: warrior, billman, crossbowman, rifleman)

Re: Elders
As i said earlier i like the idea of producing only a limited amoumt of elit unit (regiments of renown)
I will agree.
For now i will leave the post and later i will start designing the regiments of renown for all races.

Re: Elders
+7 attack is too much.
Also i don't like still this idea of these elders. I prefer not a old persons who can't stand and only can tell stories but an experienced veterans.

Re: Elders
Dwarfs can live up to 1000 years.
They can stand and fight even better than before 200-250 years.

Re: Elders
I prefer warcraft lore and HoMM 5 lore.
In warcraft dwarves ofc live longer than humans but not 10 times longer - about 1.5-2 times only (max life time is 200 years) and there is no so called "longbeards". In warcraft dwarves are the most technologically advanced.
Also they have more wild clans which have shamans and gryphons.
In HoMM 5 dwarves are rune masters and the toughest race in the whole game. Elder dwarves can become Thanes and eventually Jarls (really big dwarf with teleportation and wave of fire passive ability). But they are also not "story tellers" - they are best dwarven fighters who came through lots of conflicts.
Here dwarves have similar lifetime as humans (up to 1.5 of human lifetime - 150 years). Not a 1000.
Also instead in both games Elves can live long - in warcraft 3 elves live 10'000 years and even longer.
In HoMM 5 lore elves live thousands years.
Also as a spoiler - dwarven dragon ideas i took from HoMM 5 as well.

Re: Elders
Actually at warcraft 3 we never saw old dwarfs because most of them died from the civil wars between the dark irons, the ironforge and the wildhammers.
I never saw a dwarf die by natural causes.
Even at warhammer not many dwarfs are oldest than 400 years old. (most of them die at battles)
All dwarfs (Tolkien-warhammer-warcraft) share a strong sense of honour and pride. Those old elites know how to remind the deeds of old to the young lads. By doing so they inspire them to do even greater feats of strength.
Also as i said earlier dwarfs are like elfs (normal-double-fire archers) so we need a more elite version of the normal dwarf warrior.
Elfs are immortal (both at tolkien and warhammer)
The only exception are the elves from warcraft (they where immortal and immune to sickness but Kill jaiden hurt their tree after his "explosion")

I use the normal painting program for resizing.Gral.Sturnn wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 4:39 am A bit off topoc: Menselot what program do you use to make your work? Beacuse i love it!!!!
Paint net to cut white pixels and make them transparent.
Most of the time i use 3d painting (with 3d painting you can select, make a lot of colors and use many great tools).
