Vampire lifelink - multiple lifelink - FIXED
Is vampire supposed to have 3 instances of lifelink? It's getting a little overpowered, having 11 damage on counterattack, which translates to approximately 15 regeneration with the 3 lifelinks I'm seeing. Its high pierce armor ensures ranged attacks don't hurt it enough to kill it either. I think it's a bug related to the transform skill.

Thats why he costs 8.One defended catapult can make short work of him at the same cost

It is true that the effect is very high. Is almost impossible to kill in melee range. It is also true that units that deal normal damage on a range are really effective against it.

Re: Vampire lifelink
Try as elves. Until you get a few upgrades going, archers do 1 damage. Ent warriors actually heal it, and dragons don't do enough to kill it before it heals itself. Their only chance would be mass fire archers.

Yes, without powerups it is almost impossible for elves. I also think that a full heal on counter is really too much.

Re: Vampire lifelink
It's pretty much that it heals more on counterattack than even most orcs can damage it for, added to a virtual immunity to range that's the issue. Most tanky units need a healer to back them up, Even if they are made to be expensive and durable.
Maybe it's a good idea to make vampire just 1 instance of lifelink, 4 pierce armor, (still high, but not immune anymore), and 120 life. The increase in life keeps it a big tank, and well supported by it's own formidable healing ability. (22 attack, means 11 healing. As much as a healer could do, not counting counterattack.) The sharp drop in healing and pierce armor means you can actually wear it down over time at least.

120 seems really too much. He isn't a big creature like a giant or an elephant. I would keep the high pierce armor or lower it and pair with some high evasion stats (vampires are meant to be lightning fast).
I totally agree with reducing its lifelink effect.

Re: Vampire lifelink
Ok, 80 life maybe, and 20% to all evasion with 4 pierce armor? Evasion and lifelink can stack pretty easily, so I'm afraid to make it too high. I do like the idea of the vampire healing itself, and I don't want to really nerf it, just rearrange it so it's not a unit that must be killed in a single turn or not at all.

Re: Vampire lifelink
That's what I thought. I think it picks up extra instances when it transforms. I've noticed a similar bug with the progression from orc leader to king. If one already exists when it is upgraded, it preserves the previous auras and picks up the new one, resulting in an orc king with group attack 1,2, and 3, totaling +6 power to nearby units.

Re: Vampire lifelink
Actually last one makes sense. Some of them respect leader, more of them warlords, and most of them kings. Also, have you noticed that whenever you upgrade orc leader his aura radiaus increases by 1 tile?

Re: Vampire lifelink
It may make sense, but try upgrading when you have *existing* leaders. An existing leader picks up all three auras, while an orc king made *after* the upgrades will only have the final aura, group attack 3.

Re: Vampire lifelink
Confirmed, vampire starts with lifelink only once, but every time it transforms it gains another instance. Definitely a bug.

Re: Vampire lifelink
Surprisingly, not as much. Playing a guy called "orangatits" is where I realized this bug. The vampire's reign of terror went down in a rain of fire..... literally, a horde of fire archers with a dryad. Couldn't do much damage, but it burned quite well. Admittedly, after the first time I tried to hit it with my ent warrior and it healed from it, I delegated the ent to the role of wall in the tc under contest, which is why I had time to get the archers in place.

Re: Vampire lifelink
That's probably where we need the bug fixed. While it makes for an interesting unit, I can easily see it being abused. The same bug on orc leader/warlord/king isn't so easily repeatable, since it only works once per upgrade, per game.
