I'm not sure if it's just me but I sometimes feel that even a population limit of 50 is a bit too much, especially for the smaller maps, so perhaps a population limit of 25 could be implemented?
My reasons why a smaller population is more enjoyable is because each unit becomes more important for winning the game and therefore your strategy also becomes more important, whereas larger populations can get a bit tedious having to move so many units. Also, it makes it harder to experience all unit types at once which makes playing new unit types more exiting.
To all those who love large populations and big battles, don't worry, they are still cool!

Re: Population Limit Of 25?
Try population 50 on 40x40 and bigger maps. You will be surprised.

Re: Population Limit Of 25?
Isn't it actually the opposite? With lesser units you are forced to specialize more, while with more units you have more freedom for mixing and matching different units in different fronts of the battlefield.
Also low cost units lose their value a lot when the pop limit is low, so you'd be even more forced into choosing only high cost units.
With that said, I do support adding more choices for population limit (and there's already a topic specifically about that if I'm not mistaken).
Green is the correct color, other colors are "less correct".
Re: Population Limit Of 25?
Although I enjoy mixing and matching lots of different units, I sometimes feel that specialising in specific units means you have to play more games to experience a larger variety of units, which I feel can sometimes be more interesting.
Overall, there are obviously pros and cons of larger and smaller population limits so it's just a matter of personal preference.
Also, you are right there is a topic called 'More options for population limit' which this topic probably should be under.
