The most common theory is that the hussars wore the wings because they made a loud, clattering noise which made it seem like the cavalry was much larger than in reality and frightened the enemy's horses. From wikipedia page of winged hussar.

Add wings on the back of Imperial Knights (like the Polish winged hussar). Wings give the Imperial knight fear aura to adjacent enemy cavalry. Cost=8 turns.

I wouldn't change the imperial units (i mean, i would need to edit the image too much).

To tell the thruht,they tech us in school that those wings we're worn only on parades etc,on battelfield no or really small,anyway...
