That would pretty much nullify the skirmisher, because you can't carry around a whole bunch of spears.
How would you replenish? You make a catapult, ship it to the front lines, shoot once and - BOOM - you're out of ammo a LOOOOOoooong way from any base.

ammo = a fix stash on unit, and if it runs out it must (i presume) go to a TC to reload it?
if so, my answer id: definitely NO!
that would kill the strategy and would turn to some kind of logistic nightmare
(same true to "fuel", eg. in SW version there will not be any fuel to be refilled)

yes, sounds better, but the same: it will bring in logistics instead of strategy/tactics.

You could use a wagon/transport boat to resupply ammo???
Maybe only for trebuchet/catapult/ballista.
Wagons and transport boats could travel from TCs to units and restock them.
Or workers could like mine some rock to use as catapult/trebuchet ammo?
OR you could make a new mode of AoS called HARDCORE where units need both ammo and food to be supplied.
BUT the dev has a lot of work to do so I doubt this would be added soon (or ever)

You should make a new age of strategy called age of gunpowder where there are units like saber General musket man, and units there have ammo, cannons too and rockets, it would have different mechanics from age of strategy it wont be better it wont be worse, it would be different. Like age of fantasy or Star wars strategy

Like the dev said, ammo and supplies bring in the need of Logistics. This word represents a different kind of strategy, basically resource management. If you want to try this, there are plenty of other games with this implemented. It brings a new dimension to the game, but I can also tell you that it is a HUGE PAIN IN THE REAR. Like holy heck people, you will need insane amounts of planning and MATH to pull off a strategy involving both attacking and management.
