Extensive knowledge and study of terrain and different cultures allow units to have increased effectiveness when fighting in different environments as well as a greater chance to connect with and convert enemy soldiers.

Unfortunately any property changers, including those from effects and those from terrain cannot be affected by other property changers (e.g. tech boosts).

well, it could be renamed to cavalry movement ... making them have 25% more movement in trenches, forests and water ditches

Maybe it would better look as an increase of sight of all living units?
Because reducing of cavalry move points in forest is connected with danger of halloping in that type of environment in my opinion not in geography knowledge
