Instead of adding completely different races to the dwarves, what if we used different Clans as sub races? If you need an example of what I'm talking about, look at the sub races for the human faction. Instead of different species, they're more like different kingdoms. Everyone is still human with some minor tweaks and changes
I think that's how the dwarves should be. Keep the faction fully dwarven, but with different Clans that represent different things. Maybe you could add a clan that specializes in runic magic, or a clan that excels at invention and technology, or even evil dwarves if that's what interests you
Just wanted to share and hear everyone's opinion on this
Sub races — ARCHIVED
Re: Sub races
Problem with that is that Gnomes have already been excepted as a dwarf sub race, same as hobbits were for humans. Elves sub factions work somewhat like humans ones.
Re: Sub races
We pretty much have this in the bag already
Elves
have Moon and sun elves as sub right now and later it will be probably dark elves
Dwarves
Gnomes and firefrost clan right now and later im hoping my primal dwarf idea gets accepted ( that idea isn't important Right now
Orcs
Have Uruks and the 2nd one I believe is still being planned
Scalefolk
Since they are just reptiles you could probarly make endless Sub ideas on your own
Humans
They have Warfell and knighthood of Aurora Argentum and Imperials plus possibly hobbits later
Undead
They have Veil and demons and maybe phantoms later ( because imperials will be )

Re: Sub races
I would like too mention the growing amount of subs rn
Gnomes
frostfire
Clan Masulun Khazad or Fallen Dwarves
Ironhaft Clan (Dwarf Sub)
Dwarven Machines
And possibly Dark dwarves Inspired By D&D
( me )
Only one of those has been accepted and that is gnomes
Id say 2 things
One of those is telling Alex about all this and see what he accepts
The other is all of us chose 2 subs ( excluding gnomes ) and we go with those subs
