Re: Warrior training (3 levels)
It sounds like a good idea, but I don't know about how much impact it would really have to keep elf melee alive. It also makes the elves seem physically stronger. Maybe an alternative would be training to use elves superior agility to lessen the impact of incoming blows, raising the armors of elf melee units, in similar, but reversed fashion to the armor improvement. (Start with pierce, then melee, then both for this) This does mostly the same thing, but keeps the idea in dexterity, not constitution, to put it in rpg terms.

Re: Warrior training (3 levels)
I understand but we scripted an evasion effect so we might use that instead and give melee elves the chance to evade attacks.
I think i will edit my starting idea here to make it 2 levels
Oak's toughness: cost 6, +2 hp to all melee elves
Sequoia's toughness: cost 9, +3 hp to all melee elves
We might also propose an evasion upgrade for elves (against direct attacks)

With those names, I think these effects would be great for ents. Let's please have the direct attack evasion upgrade. That sounds like a great idea.

Re: Warrior training (3 levels)
I'll edit that to become a bonus for ent warriors (not summoned ents)

Re: Ent Warrior training
Could these effect ent demolishers to a lesser degree? Especially for pierce armor. I've noticed fire archers have eclipsed them as seige weapons, simply due to speed. Unlike catapults, ent demolishers can't be assembled near the target or carted in wagons.

Re: Ent Warrior training
No, is not possible, that's why the uruk tech pack became uruk upgrades.
We might, however, improve them with another tech.
Anyway those techs don't provide pierce armor

Re: Ent Warrior training
Ahh. Well, I guess I can request that this become a general ent upgrade pack. I certainly appreciate the idea of making ent warriors closer in function to giants, but requiring upgrades to get there, as opposed to orc giant units that are ready to go once produced. I'm noticing that elves are becoming a race of upgrades, relying on raw speed to survive early on with summons and fast tc capturing, falling back to superior enemy power, and finally regaining ground as upgrades kick in.

Yes. All the races needs upgrades or techs to keep up with the others. Probably the one that is more in need is the undead race but we are planning a lot there too.

What if we make something to give area damage?Sunrise Samurai wrote:Could these effect ent demolishers to a lesser degree? Especially for pierce armor. Isn't that the truth. I've been getting the feeling undead is due for the kind of breakthrough the blacksmith techs were for elves.Alexander82 wrote:Yes. Area damage might do well for demolishers. That is, after all, one of the main reasons to use catapults is to hit crowds. Their speed would keep it strictly defensive, but that's okay.

Take a look at my last proposal. It is mtg related and it might help.
