got it! cool idea! some enemies approaching to your base this tech and elven parapet is very useful. A bow and arrow turns into a Crowbow with scope xD

This could still be a great defense tech for elves.
We could make that tech only for the basic archer (that is a bit left behind compared to the fast archer)

HOWEVER building a parapet on every tile around the base and filling it with 2 archers might result in crazy undefeatable base.Maybe lower parapet space to 1?

Relax it's just 2 range...
Orc giants can probably one shot them.
Humans can blast them away with dragons and catapults.
Undead have Death Knight to blast it away as well.
Other elves can do the same thing and use demolishers to counter it's defense.

11 range and 8 damage is great, the only thing i'm a bit worried of is a coastal battle. That might seriously give elves the edge. But if you fill them with a lot of 7 range fire archers there is no ship that can do anything

Orc giant?Do you mean trolls ettins etc?Id ont think so.They would get overhelmed if blacksmith upgrades are researched.
Dragons?Really? Elvish craftsman can take care of catapult
He died easily with so many arrows,and i dont think one makes 7-8 of them before attacking
Other elves have lower range(if you meant to build a parapet in a middle of battle workers would get shot).Demolishers might work,but you cant create that many of them

You still have some powerful units that can cross waters with each race.

Maybe just exclude them from getting the bonus?

Honestly I don't see much issue with the idea. Elf archers would at least have a purpose at this point, since they are otherwise so completely outclassed by quick archers it isn't funny. Add elf outpost to the list of buildings they get this in. Even fully upgraded with this, elf archers will still be nothing more than long range support to the quick archers.

They might become a first defense line until the enemy is far (a fully upgraded elf archer in the middle of the map can virtually hit every tile in a 20x20 map)

I think you might be over exaggerating their power, if this were true they wouldn't have been called one of the weakest race. It is because they fall prone to the Orcish giant spam strategy. If you really think this would turn that around than why go against it?

I'm pretty sure I can get an 80 hp behemoth close enough to archers to shoot a fireball at their paraphets before they can overwhelm it with arrows. Catapults can be mass produced and are ranged 8, the elven fire archers should keep at around range 7. Catapults also have high armor pierce making it difficult if somebody wagons three of them over to your base, to destroy them with regular archers.

Yeah it might be too difficult for the Undead to get enough death knights to get close enough to those paraphets to obliterate some with fireballs while still requiring you to hold them off while you prepare the attack.

Start deleting archery ranges and begin constructing Ent Trainers when you have them cornered and built paraphets around them. If you hold them down succesfully then you will win the match.

I don't agree with the elf outpost since we need to differentiate it more from the parapet.

The parapet is born as the "offensive tower" while the outpost was more like a guardtower to see afar and see assassins (i remember it has this effect but i never build this one).

Also the name is made to recall the treetop look that those buildings have

Well, since wolves can see assasins currently, using outpost or fairies for that is kinda pointless. The difference I see between parapets and outpost is whether you want the added range from outpost or the extra space from parapet. Outpost might as well be renamed "sniper's nest" for it's current use :lol:

That's why I wanted it to effect outpost as well. It maintains the balance between building a parapet or an outpost, but gives the hitherto left in the dust elf archer a boost either way.

Lol the parapet actually is really useful, just to hide elves in. Especially casters, but almost all elves are more effective when they can hide from enemy fire. I think it might be a decent idea to upgrade it's storage capacity to 3 units. Then it would really shine in that area.

Then we might just use this tech to extend thr capacity of the parapet. We might give it 2 levels and bring it to 4 slots
