Concept: Give players the ability to have a "rematch" without rebuilding everything from scratch again.
Aim: To give players some form of "collaborative" or "lore-like" storytelling that they "act" or "play out" themselves.
Implementation Idea:
- Map Series
- Match Series
Think of it as 3 different maps that are interlinked by map design. E.g. Map 1 has a road going to the right. Map 2 has a road from the left going to the right, because the design is connected.
Note: The maps aren't physically connected themselves.
Where Match Series the next map is any map the player wishes to select.
Once the game is decided e.g. Player one is definitely going to win, Player 2 wishes to
- Resign
- And play again
- Feels like his hard effort is going down the drain, starting over is a pain
Retreating is the act of
- Resigning
- Wishing to challenge the winner again
- Fight the Winner again
- Keep some of the previous match's "progress" that he had built/produced
- Forcing the losing player to go to the edge of the map
- Offering a winner conditional surrender/ peace deal/ ceasefire
- Forcing all retreating units to stand in the designated retreat location (e.g. roads bordering the edge of the map)
- Special Button
- Technology: Unfavourable Peace deal, 5 turns
- Accepts his victory, xp and quits the game
- Accepts his victory, accepts to the rematch and "pursues" his fleeing opponent
In the second match, the losing player gets to keep whatever units he could bring out successfully. The winner gets to bring either
- Everything (units and buildings)
- Most things (units and buildings)
- Few things (Half his army units only, no buildings)
- 1. Some towns as support
- 2. 15, 20, 30 turn sandbox pre match editor
- 3. A new teammates
Procedural made
Where 2.
If sandbox pre match editor can be added
Where 3.
Possible if we add a new technology called diplomacy which has
- Foreign Support
- Foreign Alliance
Where Forign Alliance gives the retreating player one new teammates.
Teammate should be multiplayer, but AI teammates doesn't sound too bad. Cannon fodder.
What do you guys think. Is the idea too ambitious and complicated?
