Voices - Look at me when I'm talking to you! - PEND
Hi!
I said this in the dev changes so now here's the thread. I guess Daniel must have had some people say they did not like the voices. Anyway, all you ever hear now is annoying drums and every so often a "Yes, Sir". I really liked those. I think maybe it should have a button to turn it on/off. So then People don't have to be annoyed, and I can get my ego solaced for the day.
But maybe, Daniel, you can take down the "HUH?" guy - very disrespectful. When I first noticed it I deleted every unit that said it. Taught them what for.
So my suggestion: Have an on/off button for the voice-overs. What do you think?

Re: Look at me when I'm talking to you!
That's a good idea...every unit saying "yes sir!!" when I'm moving 150 units is infuriating....
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people wonder if you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...
Re: Look at me when I'm talking to you!
You can already turn the voices off in the games settings
And it would be cool if the HUH? Voice was removed

Voices replying occasionally could be cool, just not every unit, every single time it's selected...and yes, the "huh?" guy needs to go...i want to grab his sword and cut off his head myself...lol

Re: Look at me when I'm talking to you!
Idk if you saw the new version, but now it's that the guys hardly ever say anything. I like the voices but I know others are annoyed. I think there should be an option for voices as they were before, few voices, and none.
But the huh must go.

How do you record? I have "Audacity" as an audio editor.
"Your Majesty!"
"My Lord!"
"Long Life!"
"Your Rule!"
"Heaven Bless Thy Grace!"
"We Are Ever At Your Most Worthy Disposal, Your Great And Imperial Lordship!!!"
Good ideas?

i mean: something instead of huh: i mean: when the unit says nothing but you still hear something: a sniff, or a sound of a movement or something.
(i do not want to put more speeches in, since i had many request to reduce the speaches)

How about just a grunt of pain? Some of those guys probably have dysentery, considering the appalling sanitary practices in the mess tent...Daniel (the dev) wrote:i mean: something instead of huh: i mean: when the unit says nothing but you still hear something: a sniff, or a sound of a movement or something.

Re: Voices - Look at me when I'm talking to you!
maybe some kind of weapons sound?
you know, their armor gives a sound when they salute.

This is Hungary and winter is coming.

That sounds like the most plausible (and least annoying)
"I don't care who I have to step on on my way down."

is it still a problem? (i dont remember if we found any better)
Re: Voices - Look at me when I'm talking to you!
Lol every time I hear that guy I facepalm and despair at the sheer lack of discipline and competence in my forces, its so embarrassing, I try to make a campaign that enforces sheer loyalty and smart 'heroes' and then they go and drop a "HUH?"COOLguy wrote:

I suggest a option to turn on disciplined and competent phrases and in turn one for the ignorant farmer tongued <insert abhorrent name>
EDIT: this is a legit suggestion, farmer tongued option would disable all speeches but not HUH? Like idiotic sounds, whereas the disciplined phrases would have a level of competence, and a both option

Re: Voices - Look at me when I'm talking to you!
Two requests/suggestions:
1) Please could you remove the "Huh" voiceover? It's kind of funny, but I really don't like it.
2) Could you make the voices option a three level choice: Never (voices all off), Sometimes (how it is now), and Always (how it used to be with voices always talking). I understand if you don't have time to implement such an option; but with all three choices, everybody would be happy with the voices.

is it ok now? Please could you remove the "Huh" voiceover? It's kind of funny, but I really don't like it.
should we change?
i never saw such option in any game, maybe we should find a way to make a single version of voices.2) Could you make the voices option a three level choice: Never (voices all off), Sometimes (how it is now), and Always (how it used to be with voices always talking). Re: Voices - Look at me when I'm talking to you!
1) Idk, I have not heard him in a while so I guess it is ok.
2) Ok well the way we have it is fine maybe we could find a different default sound (the current sounds like a drum) like as has been suggested (armor movement sound or so).
