Elves should be able to build on forest tiles

Post by Savra »

I believe all wood elf and glade wardens structures should be buildable on forest tiles considering they do live in forests and a lot of their structures are plant based.

I mean if every race is gonna have one advantage going for their structures (most human structures can defend themselves, orc volcanic structures will eventually be immune to fire, scaledfolk can build practacly anywhere). Elves should be able to build on forest tiles with any of their structures (at least the wood elves and glade wardens).

That is something we discussed some time ago (orcs and dwarves being able to build on mountains, elves on forest and so on).

I think that it would be a bit difficult to balance that on many maps because different terrains are not always evenly distributed.

That would ends up with balance widely different based on the map used.

Maybe every race could have a few buildings that could be made on those kind of terrains but this is something we should plan carefully.

I think some alternate buildings could be for races for non-grass-based terrains (forests, mountains, maybe water).

But not main buildings (for example similar with orcs 2 types of monster caves).

Well, maybe just the fortifications then for elves, as for orcs and dwarves they can build some structures on mountains but structures like tents and buildings would be difficult.

Pretty sure it's not bad idea for at least a few buildings of the elves can be built on the on forest.

I see.
So Elven outpost and Thorn bush were messed up a bit when @Alexander82 jsoned them. Previously they were buildable on Forest tiles.
