AoE sucks...i hate MMO's...i refuse to patronize any game that allows a 13-year-old kid to get daddy's credit card and buy a massive empire that defeats a city I've been building from scratch for 3 months...it's ridiculous...

...and they still didn't have spandex in ancient China...

The really bad part is that what i said actually happened to me in AoE...i swore and still do that I'll never play another MMO...at least not one where you can buy your empire for real cash...

I actually did spend money in-game...once...I'll never do that again...my daughter spent her birthday money in a game that she used to play and never even received the items she had paid for...she cried for 3 days...(she was very young at the time...)

Pat,

Your icons are usually good and i can tell you put a lot of work into it, but the guy riding a horse kinda looks like he is riding a billy goat. Just saying.

Yes but it is a nomad...

They dont have good horses
cause the most horses won't survive in a desert.

So its not a problem and a goat-rider...

...Cool idea :D

I would add a kusarigama warrior
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/tmn ... 0617055958

Kusarigama is a double weapon, with a scythe (kama) tied to a chain (kusari)
The kusarigama warrior should have a double hit and a chance to be missed in melee combat (the chain was used to block the enemy weapon) or maybe disable counterattack (or both)

I feel like these are unit ideas running in a blind direction...
Not to be a jerk or anything, but these units are currently nothing special other than retextured normal units as far as I can see (light cav, swordsmen, archer)... What is good about these nomads? what sets their horsies apart from a knights, other than minus 2 health and minus one cost?

I agree with you Doom, we are risking to obtain just a certain amount of clones of other units, we need different mechanics like skills or effects that give a special purpose to that unit

Exactly. Special abilities are really what we are lacking for new units like these...

And besides, horse archers = mongols and mongols = nomads, so i dont see why we need these guys mummified in poop colored pajamas running around on any battlefields.

And one special ability could b that nomads become invisible in desert tiles or all of them (archer, footman, and cavalry) will have bonus damage against buildings since they raided and invaded a lot

Then let's give bonus damage against buildings to nomad units and mongudais were horse archers too right?

Another idea, they could have bonus attack in desert terrain similar to Mameluke
