Poison Stacking? IMPLEMENTED

Post by Dan301002 »

Hi, just want to ask. Doesn't poison become lethal the more it is injected to human (example, a unit will die faster if got hit by 2 poison arrows rather than an arrow)? If so, why don't it stack? (Just a question)

I have thought this too before, but mever thought to make a topic out of it. I think it might be a good idea, but it would probably change how poison archers are used, idk if that is a good or a bad thing lol

What about not purely stacking as it is done for fire damage but raising it bit slower?
one poison: 3 damage per turn
every next poison: +2 more damage per turn
So with 3 hits you get to 7 damage per turn. Healing will clear all poison at once, same as with fire and repairing.

Potentially various units with poison attack should use different poisons so those stack up separately. But that would be probably too demanding on the UI side.

EDIT: Maybe poison for different poison-treated weapons could be counted together but each of them could add different amount of poison-damage-per-turn.

Poison can be turned to stacking kind like fire. Please vote it for being implemented or not.

Which version do you like? Purely 4 more stacked damage per turn per each hit, the same way as for fire, or some slower stacking?

Maybe just a +1 damage +1 turn for every additional hit

Drop poison to 2 damage per instance if it will stack. I know fire would be more powerful at that point, but fire is designed to hurt defensive buildings, which have far more hp than the average unit.

no, 2 is too low. no one would build a costy fragile poison archer. 4 seems good to me, my archers die easily. minimum 3.

Let's just forget the idea of stacking and keep it to four it is well balanced as it is.

Looking back at this topic. I believe this is made for realism's sake rather than to balance the game.

What if an opponent makes 10 poison archers and attacks a heavy knight with all 10? He would be killed in one turn if poison damage is 3

Thats 30 turns worth of units, it seems pretty fair to me that it will demolish a 4 turn unit each per turn.

Skirmishers should be immune btw. They can't be hit with poisons if they block it with their shields.

That is a good idea, make them the counter of the poison archer too.

I think it is balanced. It would be most effective when poison archers are used in masse, but there are serious drawbacks to using any unit in large quantities, especially archers.

Yeah, seems to me like stacking poison is a good idea. I do think skirmisher immunity to poison should be a thing though. In AoS, the only source of poison is archer based, so it makes sense. AoF... well, we might have to let those skirmishers still get poisoned, just because there are melee and magical sources that should be able to work.

Poison itself is really potent and for now the strongest and only damaging effect we have for living units Rn.

5 garanted dmg/turn is much in aos standards.

Stacking can become easily OP making archers the 2nd over produced units after sieges...
So I don't support for default stack

Of Corse Skirmishers immunity can overcome this.

1.I don't remember Rn posion archer itself is affected affected by poison?
Was fixed.?

2.next we touch potions I'd like to add the PLAGUE..
-more deadly, spreads, not Stacking.
Separate tread
Pretty interesting -

3.I was thinking a different approach for this

More exactly a new unit named "HERBALIST"
Middle cost TC unit

1.gets a cashable buff- adds poisonous weapon to units
Lower, 3 dmg staking -
mellle units too
(We'll need some variants for Sfolk for aof anyway..)

Alternatively a debuff for enemy what makes units take 2x poison dmg-
Priest range

Needs to Reserch, (preparation first step to plague spreading tech )

2.poison immunity - ally buff - short period
3regular heal -

4.any balanced idea :p

can be used as offensive, counter and defensive
min 5 cost

If u think this cud work I will make a separate tread for it.
And discuss there

(add ability to transform into a cat and
rename Witch XD )

So people think 4 damage Stackable is OP & 3 is too low~
Why not make it 3 damage(stackable) & inflict a debuff : -1 to attack( stackable) and -1 to speed( non-stackable)
A soldier should become weak once he's poisoned, don't you think?
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink.

If something is stackable than all its parts are stackable so speed part would also be stackable in your suggestion so no.

actually i think we could make separate "stackingness", but i would not complicate this thing.
- 4 damage always
- and stacking.

i think this is not too op, currently poison archers are rarely used (they are too weak now)

Uhm no. Poison archers are pretty awesome.
They can on pretty large distance with at least 1 tier of bow upgrades kill enemy workers in one hit (direct attack + dot damage from poison).

Also i forget - are poison horse archers imemented?

Yes, I had been defeated by crossbow archers and poison archers against my army of skirmishers and Knights  so I don't support it anymore

Also poison horse archer is already implemented

Although I had to cover 2 fronts while he was protected by his ally on the other front so he could focus fully on me, but still I don't like poison archer stacking

Except may b if a very high turn cost tech is researched to make it stackable

May b deadly poisons

Just to take time until opponents have cavaliers
