There already are soliders - if you would run through the implemented units you would know that, I recommend doing NOW, as well as the topics listed in the "Must read topics" in Introduction.
I don't like the naming - "alpha" is a name of alien spiece in our game (next thing you would know). Also it's too simple. If anything, the "alpha shooters" can be stormtroopers or something, that name tells you what more about the unit. Beta's function is occupied by the hazamat squad.
About the images, quite nice, but I don't exactly like the helmets (I would prefer something similar to the current ones), as well as those bright colours - remember, they are soliders, camouflage.
