Re: Vehicles naming
Vehicles by models. Ships by name of people or location in the lore. Planes by like the WW2 planes. (Je46B=Jernigen model 46B)

Re: Vehicles naming
So we make up models for alien vehicles?
I am, indeed, a big Witch King and Middle Earth fan if you didn't notice.

Re: Vehicles naming
Reptillians will name their vehicles with nicknames and letter at the end to show which model. (Nardz A)
Re: Vehicles naming
Honestly, I'm for "types" variant. I think it will be possible, and it tells a lot about unit at a first glance, unlike models. Also, I never liked models idea.

Re: Vehicles naming
I prefer names by nicknames, types are just too bland and straightfoward for a sci-fi game. Types are more for medieval era.
Nicknames, unlike models retain some of the purposes for it's usage in the name if done right.
Nicknames can also have far more personality than both model and type names.
