Viking Berserker - IMPLEMENTED

Post by Mairon »

Berserker
upgrade unit, costs 4 gems.
Turns-5
Move-3
Hp-17
Attack-10
Armor-0/0
conv.res.-20% (explanation: he is so dumb that he doesn't care what the priest says)
Ability-Rage range-0 (can cast only on self) effect-for the next turn he gains +4/+4 armor, +1 move, +80% conv. res. and +8 attack (and loses the bonuses the turn after)
bonuses- +200% on elephant and elephant archer, because he can't miss them even in rage.
Towers and fortresses have +100% on him, because even he can't smash stone and so he will just stupidly try to headbutt the walls.

Edit:
rage lasts 2 turns
hp-21
Cheers, everything will go well! Yes, ask the other person to lend you something/go on a date/do anything else! They ain't gonna bite your head off!

I like the beserker idea. I came up with one before I saw this. Though my version has quite different. I would like beserkers to be ingame one day. :)

Cool unit...the Viking berserkers were the first known warriors to use drugs to enhance their abilities...the hallucinogens they took daily made them numb to pain and gave them "superhuman" strength...i just watched a special about them on PBS the other night...

Any idea's stat-wise... Op health and attack or an effect called berserk? I reckon 5 or 6 turns. :)

How about:

Cost: 6
Att: 10
Armour: 0
Pierce Armour:0 (berserkers didn't wear armor-they didn't need it)
Speed: 3
Range: 1
Special: 40% chance each turn to go into berserk rage- double attack power for 1 turn, 2 turns cooldown (no action or movement during cooldown)

Sounds good, but wouldn't beserkers always be beserker in battle? Not just 40% of the time?
(Im probaly wrong though :) )

Not really...have any of you ever taken LSD, mesculine or psilocybine? When one is in a hallucinatory state, it's completely mind-altering...thoughts are disconnected, sensory input is scrambled, and moods are wildly divergent...it wouldn't take a lot to set off a berserk rage, but it wasn't constant...an uncontrollable army is doomed to failure and the Vikings dominated the northern seas for 600 years, as well as conquering most of north America 400 years before columbus "discovered" it...

We could have it be an upgrade for the swordsmen...

Yes, but the swordsman already has 2 upgrades. It would be better just to have as a separate unit.
Thanks!
