Polls are like opinion surveys that can help show how a group of people feel about something. Kind of like "voting". I think polls are mentioned in the FAQ here: faq.php#f2r3
Thanks!

When posting a new topic or editing the first post of a topic, click the “Poll creation” tab below the main posting form; if you cannot see this, you do not have appropriate permissions to create polls. Enter a title and at least two options in the appropriate fields, making sure each option is on a separate line in the textarea. You can also set the number of options users may select during voting under “Options per user”, a time limit in days for the poll (0 for infinite duration) and lastly the option to allow users to amend their votes.
Is the permission for this missing? I think this would be easier to use in some topics, especially yes or no situations like the poison on undead topic.

It could be a good way to focus the votes, though it might have to have us rework our current voting system. Still a good way to deal with simpler issues.

I think it would be good for votes where you have a few options. I would still carry on normal votes as always since there are too many options to set

I'm thinking for AoF that we could have each week's vote include a poll for what race is the focus for the next week, ensuring we are all on the same page each week. Obviously, it would have the same pattern as before, where each race gets one every 4 weeks.

Isn't just a way to make it more complicated?
In fact is already this way since the race who won is left out from the vote untile the next month.

I'm saying, starting at the last vote of the month, we ask which race will start the month off, then during that vote we ask who is next, removing the first one, and so on. This means that if orc is selected as the first one to be added to, the entire vote is for orcs, rather than split with undead and human units as well

Yes, I've understood that but you still have a single winner. If people prefer a certain orc unit it will win anyway. Imho there is no point in voting for the race and after that vote again for the units. It is just having the double of the work to end up with the same result.

Ok. Still, is there any way to enable this for the simpler (yes/no) votes? I'm guessing that would have to be enabled by someone with full administrative power over the forum.
