the archer concept is similar to Bard, the archer who took down smaug in the hobbit

the melee unit is more a clichè.

We should also say that archers are already some sort of anti dragon units. We might do a costly archer with normal stat but high bonus against dragon.

On the melee side the unit, instead, should be more tanky (since to kil dragons you should at least be able to withstand their blows) and able to deal a decent damage to dragons (at least with bonuses)

Indeed. I have the perfect idea for the melee one. The famous "Dragoon"! THE ULTIMATE DRAGON SLAYER!! HAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA sorry i got excited.

It is a heavy, costy knight wearing a golden armor that should have tons of arm., p.arm. and hp. His attack doesnt need to be high, but obviously a LARGE bonus vs dragon.

In a cool strategy game i play, called Tactics Ogre, the Dragoon is strong against any large beast, not only against dragons. That sounds cool & useful imo. Maybe we can do this

I think dragon slayers should be heavy armored knights rather than huge axe-wielding brutes. But, of course, that image of dragon slayers is rather sterotypical... so, if u wanna make something different from other dragon-slayers, your idea is better, but if u wanna follow the standards, my suggestion would be better.

What does everyone think

I have a similar idea to this one, I've posted it in the big scaledfolk thread. Though this isn't bad either. A bowman with bonus vs. dragons would be interesting.

Dragonslayers/Draconic Warriors

Post by SirLuciano »

I see many dragons in AoF so idk why Dragonslayers aren't around

These should be a sub-faction for humans
Dragonslayers are anti scaledfolk (mainly dragons and kobolds they, don't have bonuses against other scaledfolk) while Draconic warriors are dragon-supported units which has their armor be given the power of a dragon like fire and their armor has wings,Draconic warriors should also summon a dragon and has like a 4-6 turn vanishing.
Dragonslayer spells shoul be like:Dragon poison,Spiked Armor(it increases counterattacks),Pierce(more effective against kobolds and dragons).
Draconic warrior spells should be:Scaled Armor,Dragonfire,Summon Dragon,Transform(into a superior kobold warrior with wings)

There would be kinds of Dragonslayers
Spearman
Maceman
Axeman
Skirmisher
Captain(his weapon is a sword)

Kinds of Draconic Warriors
Spearman
Swordsman
Shielder

Tell me if this is a good idea
If it is I bet the designs for it would be cool

Well, some units are able to counter enemy dragons like the humans Dragon riders for example and everyone's archers.

But the humans did have a Dragon slayer unit suggested in the humans unit topic.
