Roman Garrison IMPLEMENTED

Post by lordtalamar »

Building that produces only the Roman troops. And can heal the Roman troops like the Church can.

^^ I am going heavy roman everything in one or two games right now to see how effective their synergies are, and what the best strategies are when working with them.

More Roman stuff would be cool :)

Not sure if many people will use this because there are currently only 3 roman units. After more roman units are added I think it would be a great addition to the game.

So far we have:

mounted: centurion
infantry: legionairres
ranged: saggitarus

we have a roman unit for each basic category, what more do we absolutely need?

Yes, this is more than the church had at first. Daniel generally says that 3 is the minimum to put a new factory (why we don't have a gunpowder units factory)

And there are more Roman units being designed.
Thanks!

This would also be a good place to produce Doom's suggested Roman Auxiliaries.

That's why I came up with the idea for auxiliaries

I like the whole idea of the columns! You could make the image taller than 32 px - maybe around 40 px high (it will overlap the tile above a little bit)

You will need to enable transparency.

It is good! I like the style. However, somewhat like what COOLGuy said, I think a 2nd story might look cool :)

Whoops!

Forgot that.

How's this look? I've still got some fine touches on the shading/texture, especially the large side wall, to finish, but wanted some approval before polishing it up.

Love it. I think it is ready for the shading stage. (I might look at AoE or the Total War series to see what their Roman buildings were colored like - if the red roof fits)
Thanks!

OK, this is the best I could do without making it look weird. If anyone wants to fix it up, you have my blessing to do so, otherwise here it is.

Nice! It looks more-or-less ready for implementation! :)

Just to be clear, this building can only currently produce (saggitarus, legionairre, centurion) and it can heal all troops or just roman troops?

Thank you! You're welcome - you are very good at drawing from scratch.

That sounds correct (only Roman stuff).
Thanks!
