Sacred Tracker

I have an idea to help the humans to fight the armies of the Undead!

Sacred Tracker ( Elite Human ) Highmen

The king has commissioned these men to hunt down and destroy the Undead, no matter what the cost, no matter where they hide! These specialized combatants are trained at the CHURCH to hunt these abominations to extinction.

The Sacred Tracker is equipped with a leather hauberk to protect themselves from the biting zombies and ghouls, but it allows them to remain light on their feet. They wield a Crossbow to kill The elite Undead from afar, ( we all know that liches and vampires hide behind the hordes of zombies and skeletons, crossbows are believed to be a vampire hunting weapon), he also has a silver sword to strike down the fiends when they get close. The fabled silver swords are the weapons that they are trained to use even at a young age. I will do almost ANYTHING to see this unit be implemented in Age of Fantasy, for it is a unit that I have seen in mythology, and have grown fond of! Here are the stats!

Cost: 7
Hp: 37
Attack: 10 (Ranged)
Attack: 13 (Melee)
Range: 7 (Ranged)
Range: 1 (Melee)
Armor: 1
Pierce Armor: 3
Speed: 3 (1)mountains
Sight: 7
Action/Turn: 2/2
Spell Resistance: 50% (vs Undead only) 0% vs other races
Size: 1x1

Bonuses:

All Undead=100%
Vampire=350%
Lich=150%
Spectral Rider=150%
Death Knight=150%

Abilities:

Heal=(as human priest, 10hp per turn)
Switch Stance= ( takes 1 action to switch from crossbow to sword, and from sword to crossbow)
Team Hunting= (+1 attack for every Sacred Tracker standing next to him (max=+4)
Burning Weapon= ( The Silver burns undead, this is a passive effect)

I would like to see this implmented soon :D Thank you again for your consideration.

Humans are strong against undeads, they have exorcism.

Yet, I have noticed that holds a cooldown. 1 per 6 turns to be exact. And it only affects a single target.

I compared it to other units to make sure that it would be balanced.

I think that an elite unit can be another vector while waiting for
( 2turns for a priest and 6 turns for exorcism)

It would be a good idea especially against the stronger Undead units.
Priests use their exorcism at a range of 3. It would be rarely effective for the fact that it is used up on the weak units and takes so long to recharge. Besides, priests lose their effectiveness while waiting for it to recharge.

The Undead Hunter is the answer for that, yes 7 turns, but the payoff is worth it. And it is not OP!

Many of the human units do indeed struggle vs Undead (ie: skirmishers, archers, even halberdiers die when attacking a skeleton Knight!) This unit will make the playing field a bit more even. And they have no special bonuses against other races, it will be like a normal elite unit.

???

I've not seen that one. I have access to all gems units.
I have Google Play Version?

Are U sure its in AoF?

This unit is a race specific unit. I believe that it will be stategically beneficial for human players.
It is like a Holy Ranger.

No it is only a suggestion.

You should probably try to revive it.

:| How so?

The Monster Slayer has 2 melee stances and uses potions.
The Undead Hunter can switch between ranged and Melee combat, and I have clarified his bonuses to be race specific. He would also be an effective, and versitile combatant.

If you would like... I could change the name to what I came up with originally, The Sacred Tracker!
Unfortunately, I don't quite understand how the Monster Slayer was supposed to work

To add flavor, he could have a sliver sword to use against Undead. But, I personally don't see how it would be effective besides anything but Undead. If he did become good against other monsters, wouldn't The Undead Hunter/ Sacred Tracker become OP?

According to the stories...

numerous stories were gathered and analyzed by me and my twin brother.

Blessed Silver Swords were used against 2 types of creatures with great effect!

Undead (mainly Vampires)
Lycanthropes ( mainly Werewolves )

Sacred tracker sounds like much of an improvement.

Research is good, how many sources have you gone through?

I must take it, his only weapons are silver tipped arrows and a silver sword leaving him completely vulnerable to other units.

Can demons or spirits be damaged heavily by silver because I think they might need some way to counteract all race purposed weapons aimed at them.

I have been planning on finding a way to implement this unit scince I've completing my first skirmish against 5 Undead AIs, on hard, All on the same side. I found the faults of the exorcism ability, and they have had a difficulty even killing skeletons with their elite units. I play Dungeons and Dragons, as a Sacred Tracker ( a custom, play tested, balanced, and family favorite, character class) just to kill Undead. Tis my passion. I would like to see you enjoy it as much as I do. I will make sure that it is as useful for your purposes as I can.

The blood of the Innocents cries out for revenge against their murderers.

The Sacred Trackers SHALL answer that call!!!

This feedback is helpful

About 36 books/ librams.

They range from children's stories to published works regarding the many theories of each myth in history.
Blessed silver swords were used mainly against 2 types of creatures with great effect.
Being that they are blessed, they would be effective against demons. As for spirits... They would be affected for the fact that they are equivalent to Undead Wraiths, Ghosts, and Spectres. It only goes under a different name.

As for other races... The Silver has no extra effect on them, thus it will be as if they were fighting with regular swords and crossbow bolts. They are effective archers and combatants, even if not fighting their enemy of choice. But they are not AS effective as other units.

By golly, I even have a campaign thaught up for the use of the Sacred Tracker to be implemented into the game. :P

To Slay the Undead!
• The Dead Rise
• A Call for Aid
• A New Order, The Sacred Tracker
• Against Chilling Odds
• Rest in Peace!

Problem is... I don't really know how to work the triggers of the map editor.
And, worse yet... I don't really know how to create an image of The Sacred Tracker

Puss_in_Boots, would you be so kind as to compose,(to find if someone can, or teach me how to use the game to do so) an image that would be suitable for the format of AoF. I ask you because you have helped me with quite a bit thus far.

Any questions that are asked actually help me to further solidify this unit to the format of this game.

So keep asking! 8-)

I fully support this unit, at least someone able to effectively kill the undead.

This is quite the hefty read... Which may require a hefty post!

36 books that's about enough information to support this. Especially for its wide range.

If it is harmful to evil spirits than that means it's only weakness could be malevolent people such as sorccerers and necromancers. Which have the weakness of fighting against Inquistitors or archers should they ever be implemented.

If it can compete against non-Undead units farily well, then I think 4 costs is fair. Does this unit have any other skills than switching weapons? Compared to the monster slayer, he has no bow and arrows and can drink potions under the trade-off for a debuff. This unit is almost equal to the other, but I think the monster slayers can do more damage to what considered a beast than Undead.

With the wide array of units available for purchase on the upgrade page. These maps can introduce the unit well, and hopefully give players enough gems to afford the unit.

What exactly are the details of each map? I can assume they will require about 11-30 different triggers if it is mainly story focused. Story driven campaigns are always better than huge armies clashing.

Images can be made on gimp or gimp 2 if you have a computer. I don't own one.

If you have an android device you can use pixel art or pixely.

The best way to draw a unit, would be to edit off of ither unit images which you can search for here on the forums or ask the developer to help you out.

I could try to make an image. LordOfAles has been our most active drawer currently. He claims his computer broke down however.

I don't own a computer. I will do my best, or ask the developer.

I also added the veteran effect, and a prerequisite tech for their purchase "A New Order", kinda like ballistics, and flight. Cost 10 at this point.

Also, Team hunting= +1 attack for every Sacred Tracker adjacent to him ( max +4)

Tell me what you think, these are late add one that would make him more effective.

Cost= 7 gems on upgrades section.

My posts are lengthy for the fact that I like to put as much info down as possible to avoid forgetting important points.
Not to mention that anything I post is with good reason. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted :D

How good would he be against a one-on-one fight upgraded Undead knights?

Five maps with 4 gems =20gems

Cost=7 for Sacred Tracker

I think it's fair, what say you?

Depending on how he is used, he should be able to kick his butt!

Armored or Golden?

His bonuses should give him double damage vs Undead. Thus killing it in 2ish Turns.

That is if my math is correct...

Golden, because those things are annoying, they don't die easily by Spears.

When the knight closes, he should be able get 1 bolt off B4 resorting to sword, then his High counter and 2x attacks and double damage should finish the job B4 he has a need to heal (ie: red hp indicator)

7 turns: 7 Sacred Tracker
14 turns: 4 armor tech, 6 golden tech, 4 skeletal knight

Golden Skeleton has around 50 HP and18 attack.

Sacred Tracker has 37 hp and 26 attack vs Undead and 2 attacks per turn.

Yep, he should beat them!

Would it be wise to allow pathfinding for the Sacred Tracker?

Ie: move over mountains like a Ranger in AoS with 1 move per turn.
He is a tracker after all...
It would add to his flavor, but it's only a suggestion. Don't want to OP him.

Re: Sacred Tracker

by StormSaint373
According to my Analysis...

The Sacred Tracker should be able to eliminate any Undead in a 1 vs 1 fight, except against the Death Knight ( who can kill him in one turn ).

Ways to counter the Sacred Tracker as Undead...

Overwhelm him with massive numbers (but it will be costly), but it is highly possible, like any character!
He is only human after all, so poison will hurt him.

There are many more that I can think of, but I'll leave it to you to figure it out :D

I am unable to draw the Sacred Tracker

But I can describe how I pictured him to be in AoF!

Model ( melee )=

Standing in hauberk (brown, burgendy/maroon, grey) based on preference of artist, hood drawn over head,
Silver Sword across chest (kinda like Zurgo B4 update)
Boots are shoulder width apart (same color as hauberk)
Faction color influence= on belt, gloves, and edges of hauberk

Model ( ranged )=

Stance and colorations are same
Crossbow is drawn with the bow pointed down toward outside of the image,
Colors:
Crossbow
Bow= grey (metal)
Stock= brown (wooden)
Bolts would show from behind the hauberk (they would also be affected by faction color)
The leather hauberk makes for most of the sprite's appearence.

I'm sorry that I am unable to draw the Sacred Tracker myself. I hope someone is willing to do so. If you could, I would be grateful.

Do let me know what you think.
