Demigod: Protector — REJECTED

Post by Yugrath »

I have an idea of four demigods for four races. They each will have one ability extremely high, higher than all units of the game, and other abilities low or average. They'll have no upgrade, bonus, multiplication or reproduction but their one ability will be so high that it will make them belonging to the strongest units of the game.
The human demigod is called protector. Its attack power is high.
Cost: 9
HP: 11
Attack power: 90
Range: 1
Armor: 1
Pierce armor: 1
Speed: 3
Sight: 3
Action/turn: 1/1
Spell resistance: 0%
Size: 1×1
How is it? If the idea is OK then I will post the other demigods in their races.

Yes I agree. My idea is demigods will have only one high ability yet they will be extremely powerful units, how is it?. Thank you for the reply.

Sorry to say but he is not so strong and is much more balanced than my idea i.e. he doesn't have any extremely high ability but has several high abilities.

Good point. I thought being the protector it should be able to destroy any enemy unit i.e. protect others from any enemy so the extremely high attack as there are some units with extremely high HP like Cave troll: 90 HP, Green and Skeletal dragons: 80 HP,
Ent warrior: 120 HP, Ettin: 100 HP.

It does seem that having That much Hp is somewhat OP for a human. Personally I think my unit stats are better in my opinion.

I think probably we are both right about the idea of protector as it's a subjective thing.

It doesn't have high HP but high attack. I agree that it's way too much for normal humans but demigods do not belong to any race completely, they're half gods so it'll be like half god and half human, elf, orc or undead.
Your stats are definitely much more balanced so certainly better in that sense but my idea is demigods will be unique units, there will be only one for a race in a game, but extremely powerful so worth it and I think demigods should be extremely powerful units anyway.

I'm not much into that for normal games

We might consider something like a heroes game mode

Oh is demigods too much? I agree it probably sounds more mythical than fantasy but you know some heroes like Hercules, Achilles, Gilgamesh etc were demigods but if it's too much then OK I got it.

Yes, those were the first example i had in my mind, and in some fantasy settings is not uncommon to go after gods and such (e.g. dragonlance)

I just think theywould just imbalance the game. A race among the other will have a better one and with such a strong unit will break the game. Also that would better fit another game mode than a normal game

My idea is every race will have one demigod like guardian for Elves, destroyer for Orcs and pestilence for undead. Is it possible to balance them? Yes the idea of game mode sounds excellent to me. Thank you.

Hey, my word isn't law, just my opinion. That would require much work to be balanced (balance is already a issue right now) just i don't feel about working for this idea cause it doesn't appeal me very much.

Remember that last word is Daniel's

Nah I just had an idea it can be bad we're cool with it.

OK I thought it will add a bit variation and different taste to the game which some people may like but I can be wrong.

Sounds good but maybe reduce the armors and increase the attack and cost? He doesn't seem to be strong enough to worth it to me but maybe I'm wrong. Thank you for the reply.

i think this is now balance. the attack power no need to increase . attack power: 30 is good it can kill enemies in 1-2 turns
