Sounds great. If it is not going to be its basic attack, then it shoukd be an ability.
But i like it as main attack

Remember there is the hawacha. The ribault needs gunpowder tech. It must be better.

remember ribualts were anti infantry weapons, not very useful against buildings

Hwacha needs gunpowder just the same.
And it's longer to build.

I like this. With a little infantry bonus (+25%) and additional gunpowder abilities (when introduced to other units) it would be good hwacha alternative.
But we're going to need animation.
