I might only be a newbie but I feel as though that bow looks too generic, like the regular Archer. Maybe giving it a different bow might make it look better?

Three things:
1. Stats are too powerful.
2. Why samurai with bow has better defence than melee one? It should be the other way around.
3. Yumi was really big bow - to achieve draw strength of war bow (at least 100 pounds) they had to have 2 meters of length. Comparing it to average height of historical japanese man - it could have been 25-35% higher than him. And griped in 1/3 of height, unlike european bows.
Or recurved. They developed recurve bow around 13-14th century.

I forgot about sight - he should have the same as all regular foot atchers - 5).
But with the image and stats - I'm adding him to the todo list (so it's accepted).

he could have an arrow of fireworks, so far as I know the Japanese used this to mainly scare horses and disorient enemy troops.

Fireworks were more of chinese thing.
I don't remeber or never got to know if japanese forgot various explosives, didn't use it at all before europans came or just didn't have much materials to make them.
Besides - special, good ability for 3 turn unit as a bonus (additionally to main battle capability) - I don't think so.

I think it might just be an ability to shoot an arrow of fire, from what I researched, they were used in 6th centunry in military campaign in korea.

That is actually most important point . Adding any abilities to quite strong unit is unbalanced.
