It is unit by itself but in topic there is suggested the unit and its upgrade and research for it must be tied to knight templar.

This unit is currently by itself, but when using upgrades I think that the Defenders of the Faith, (Unit recruited from the church) should be in a set, like the Romans...

Would make things easier, in a way. But the Choice is entirely up to you.

How about the unit gets a separate upgrade tech instead of putting with knight templar?


Tech: To Knight Hospitaller
Cost: 4 turns (much lower upgrade cost for single unit upgrade)

Builder: church/cathedral

is it a standalone unit "hospitaller"
and there is a tech "tech_upgrade_hospitaller" that can upgrade it to "hospitaller knight"

right?

(jsons have some wrong setting tell me if i need to list them here or if i only need to fix them and put in :) )

i still had no time as i am doing online multiplayer logic coding, if anyone have time please fix the jsons
(as i see they are now mostly archer and crossbow jsons barely modified)

I corrected it. Now gonna test if works properly.
He had too much heal - changed it to 4 ( and at range 1) and 8 for upgraded one.
Please change names of graphics to unit_hospitaller.png and unit_hospitaller_upg.png


Edit - actually posted wrong file, also names of graphic assets

remark: the "32_" should not be in image names - only very old assets have that (i ran into problems when i changed unit image to be 64px and i had to rename everywhere, so please dont put image size information in image names - thanks!)

Not sure - I wanted to test first if lower heal will be enough, but I felt 5 on base, and especially 10 on upgrade is too much (he would take no damage after heal from single basic skirmisher, so lowered a little. And upgraded hospitaller with 8 heal is set to mitigate master skirmisher damage instead of slowly healing).

Now tested - it works - he shoots, he kills, he heals and he upgrades properly - only in unit details icons are still missing (and texts, but that I understand why).

Actually, after using him few times I noticed that he could be a little more resilient and more importantly it's a little too weak to matter to other units -I would change that heal +2(6) /+1(9).
Also shadow look weird.
@StormSaint373 Are you willing to correct the shadow?
