The war pig

Pigs in ancient times were used as a counter against elephants since the slightest squeal of a pig terrefied these huge beasts. The war big would move 4, low health, low power but have a huge bonus vs elephaelephants

What about reviving this theme? I also remembered the fact that long time ago romans used pigs in fights generally against elephants in Pyrrhic war and other cases. Pigs were able to frighten elephants so they opened friendly fire :twisted: and trampled its own allies. And there was also a feature with covering those pigs with rosin and setting them on fire. The effect on enemy animals was more immense and also affected infantry. Let's discuss that unit and probably make it roman-exclusive. With bonus against elephants of course. Or / with an aura reducing attack similar to camel against horses. Or with some special ability (cant forge it right now).

I prefer a class of hog riders. With a negative aura as of camel fear, towards elephant. They cover basic attack group with a few advanced once also. They get bonuses from normal blacksmith techs and makeshift upgrades.
Come under a new category hog riders.

Hog rider is from coc or other games, I assume it is fictional. I don't see why the ancient military would ever use some pigs as mounts. it'd be useless for a mount unless it is a courier unit. Seriously, Hogs wouldn't be able to move if a human with such equipment rode on it. It is fantasy.

Burning hogs is reasonable, they were set on fire to scare enemy elephants, first used by the ancient romans I think, to counter an elephant army. Dunno how to make the stats, maybe standard pig stats but increased health, speed and damage plus an ignite ability which boosts speed but decreases health over turns. Like, -2 hp and +1spd per turn. And having elephant fear aura.

Agree with Quadrupole. Hog riders seem to me more AoF unit. Stats and ability is the most interesting thing that i cannot figure out still. Maybe it can be something like petardier? But not with a big explosion, just setting on fire adjacent units. But there's still no mechanic to set on fire living creatures. And from my point of view fear similar to camel is not enough cause pig can be easily killed. Maybe it should also reduce mental resistance of an elephant? Or some sort of comboing with converting to recreate historic situation with elephants attacking its allies. The ideal thing is getting elephant under control on one turn but i suppose it's too hard to implement and doesn't cost efforts for just 1 special unit.

Hmm, you should've done small research first, when I first saw your post about warriors using hogs as mounts I first thought it was silly, so I searched on google some things about war pigs and hog riders. War pigs has a link - https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... B229wfP4Vv, and when I searched some hog riding warriors all that came was from CoC and some fictional things. So, Hog rider is most likely made up, a work of fiction.

Stats can be hard, needs Endru. Plus some stats that we might create might be impossible to put in-game unless coding from dev. But, we can make elephants weak by fear, so maybe an ability and/or a demoralizing aura.

For more practical use why not a elephant converting elenlphant debuffer

Make warpigs to be able to convert elephants but it is called elephant rampage not conversion anything and dont add the side effect of ehen I fail to convert it weakens its conversion resistance so it is clear that it is not converting its like the elephant will go wild but yoyr enemy is controlling it and give it elephant fear aura that weakens elephants and decrease its conversion resistance and armor and a weapon effect that once you comverted the elephant itll increase its conversion resistance to unallow the enemy to retake control on the elephant
