A brawler is a person who engages in very rough fights. Like wrestling for example.

Well atk 8 enough for a punching wrestler, done by a swordsman, even he could do the largest punch in history of punches. If you didn't meant a punching wrestler but an armed fighter who can walk out neck to neck with a light infantry, his armour is good to go.

I am on a self-imposed ban from suggesting stats due to my occasionally frequent leanings towards always being OP, but with a cost of 5, would this unit get used much compared to a berserker which has significantly better offensive stats for 4 turns out of 7? I think this unit needs to be either better, cheaper, or more unique.

And it's just a personal preference @QuadrupoleStrat , but would the image look better with the axe in a ready-to-swing position rather than upright?
I also play an RTS game called Life 8-)
And I also like drinking beer! :D

AoE is not nessesarily any ability to cleave through enemies .
It can just as well represent specific fighting style of a unit to disperse into enemy ranks and fight singular battles against multiple opponents or just represent an impact of the charge (elephant case). Of course all relative to unit armor and potential size.
And graphical concept of huge two handed weapons is just a flavour setting to recognize such units easier and fit more to the view of singular people as a unit.

The catch is those 3 turns, when berserker is really vulnerable and weak offensively.

Like endru said, berserker is really vulnerable without its active ability. Berserker is indeed stronger when it's active ability is on passive. This unit, having +1 more turn is a fighter with so much damage, Aoe attack as passive and a well rounded amount of armor. Can be affected by blacksmith upgrades making it somehow stronger than the zweihander, berserker and nodachi in Late-game. Plus has a 100% Mental resistance making it harder to convert and harder to demoralize.

Yes, a nordic unit that deals aoe damage. Unlike zweihander wielder and nodachi wielding samurai's, Jarl viking is a more resilient fighter with resistance against conversion.

Flavour-wise should be fine.
However I am not sure these exact stats make a place for such unit.
Nords already have AoE damage dealer with similar cost.
Of course Berserker has slightly different usage, but I wonder if Jarl shouldn't be 7 or 8 cost leader unit, maybe as convincer, buffer or debuffer.

Haven't we already have a unit for that? Viking Warlord? Im not really against it but im just saying. But I'd still prefer an Aoe damage dealer.

This unit is possibly assembled by Jarl's, so I named it Jarl Viking. Given the best military equipment and is formed mostly by professional viking warriors.

Well, the main problem is that there is enough nordic units in game and quite a lot in plans.
Maybe it's just too much.
There exist other cultures, that deserves some love.

But please consider to add Viking Gigant in the near future. I'd want a large brute in AoS who can unleash Havoc, Especially a Viking.
