@Stratego (dev) , i don't know if AoS has veteraning like in AoF... But, if so... Maybe this unit will be perfect

Highlander

Cost: 5
Hp: 20
Att: 10
Armor: 0/1
Speed: 4
Action/Turn: 1
SR: 0

Recruit in: TC only, or Barracks Only

Ability: Veteraning: +2hp, +1 att, +1/+1 armor per kill

I think in aos veteraning is far more dangerous because units have far less health and armor than in aof so i say no to this unit.

Maybe limit him to 5 veteraning bonuses (if it's possible) and make him cost 3.
After 5 kills he would be full veteran:

Hp: 30
Att: 15
Armor: 5/6
Speed: 4
Action/Turn: 1
SR: 0

Then he would have some use on the start - fast melee unit and potentially you get faster persian immortal for less cost if the kills are managed somehow.

We can't set limits to veteraning currently.

no problem it can be unlimited but i suggest only this:
Veteraning: +1hp, +1 att on each kill

Works for me...

Would it be amiable, if they could have a higher starting armor (1/2)

Or be affected by smithing techs (armor only)?

Good for me, but make it both - 1/2 armor and blacksmith upgrades.
These stats aren't super good for this price.

+gets blacksmith armor only
Starts with 28 Hp0/1 arm for
Cost should be 4

But it probably won't work without code change - I didn't find veteraning enchant in AoF assets, so may be incoded. Didn't start new effect because in effect definition topic there is no effect behaviour which fits (or maybe TRIGGERED_EFFECT).
