their best friends may become backstabbing assassins though :lol: :lol: :lol:

cost should b 4, its not that different from healer and i think -1 atk and armor is not as useful as +10 hp heal

It was - 3 atk
(And to be fairly useful should give him mummy fear ;p)

So what about - 4 atk, - 1/1 arm, - 1 speed, - 20%spell res, stacks
Range 4

And if would be affected by one of the auras then worths even 5 cost

if u say stacks then and spell range 4, that alone makes it worth at least 6 turns, how long low morale lasts?

While the image is great I'm a little torn about his battlefield appearance.
Unarmed aristocracy on dangerous field of battle?
But it would work great as map unit to be protected.

And if we put it on normal play I would change his proposed abilities for simplicity, consistence and balance.
- pay mercenary without sacrifice is dangerous balance-wise, but most importantly - there is no roman times mercenary units, so senators would be surrounded by disband knights and/or genoese crossbowmen - it doesn't fit.Instead why not just give him conversion - he is a great orator, so he could convince others about advantages of being employed by great Rome.
- demoralise - I would remove chances - simple 100% working debuff.
- additionally it could have researchable high morale aura (or maybe fervor or something similar).
If all three would be added then senator would be priest counterpart, but without healing ability, but having a little more hp and debuff increasing conversion chance instead.

Good kind of the reverse of Japanese counter part, it has debuff and conversion while the Japanese has heal and buff
