Castle has wooping 1000hp base. So what? Nobody in their right mind attacks it with any unit having no bonuses against it (or assasin).
I say to lower castle hp to 375-400 hp, give it fortified category additionally and get rid of castle/mega buildings bonuses in units.
The same should be done to fort - 225 hp and fortified category.
It can be calculated quite easily, that 375hp castle would be destroyed by any unit having +200% against fortified in the same time as 1000hp one with +700% bonus.
Of course burning damage and mending bonuses should be scaled proportionally to new hp.
