AI stupidity

Post by Zaron » Mon Jun 12, 2017 3:34 pm

Random battle vs USA on AI-hard mode (archipelago) and i notice that rather then rush to secure a neutral base right off their shore (8 tiles) and allow them to protect their shores from bombardment ground water and air raids they build 7 jeeps and one transport craft which kamikaze charged a artillery unit on my home shore. Something similar happened on AI light on a ground map but i excused it as AI being gentle but on hard this is just stupid. No real challenge when you can just capture something so close and pound any sorta unit leaving their shores

Edit: tried to included a screenshot but site won't allow it

Actually the only difference between light and hard is their unit availability and tech research. There is no difference between their intelligence, so this kinda does make sense to me.

Well.. the more you know then.. my point of leaving a city on a island in range of bombing and other attacks neutral is still valid. I'll keep playing that match to see if they do something interesting. It is as simple as building a few battleships and artillery and destroy any attempt to mobilize a army. Get some AA and a few bombers and they are toast. Maybe they will surprise me

To be fair, there was more than one point on that paragraph.

Also I do agree that the AI requires some tweaking.

Nope nothing special brought some more ships down a few bombers and slugged them classic style and they didn't mount more of a defense then a single plane attacking a ship that got shredded. It's up to devs if they want to up AI in those maps I'm simply noticing. Not sure what should be done, perhaps a increased focus on countering your moves? A few subs and AA would have shot my strategy down easily allowing room to expand

They seemed to run pretty well on a pure ground battle 4 player map no water factored in which i found out by running into enough artillery tucked away in a city to destroy any ground unit in one turn some times in one shot :x

Alright yes more then one point not really keeping track just typing what seems to make sense :D i mean it's fun and all to more or less roll over them but challenge is nice at times
