here i have found a possibly free asset, especially the "cover image" - please someone confirm that i am right it is free to use

It is absolutely free.
You must add to wishlist, add to cart, and then fill in the information to receive the free assets. (Obviously I didn't do that.)

About it's policy, it seems easygoing. May have to double check the terms page.

The images are very cartoony. I wouldn't really wonder why they look weird.

yes only the cover image i saw would look much better than current.

if i knew how to make images in that way I would try.

Well it's a bit comical honestly and not a accurate depiction of AOWW which if you do remember when Google play cracked down on some games when they stool footage for their game from YouTube. They were not a accurate depiction. But if you want to continue I would recommend openclipart which is a open source website; all images their are okay to use on any app or anywhere.
