Could map designer make templates? Or is that part of auto-tiling

There is no such option now. You could put that in the suggestions part - it is a good idea.

It's like if your doing something important and you receive a text, instead of typing the whole thing, you can select a template that says "I'm sorry, I'm in a meeting and I will call or text once it is over. Thx!"

The way this could be applied to the game would be if the same layout was used in map editor repeatedly or the layout pattern was needed later, you could save it and have it later as a template.
The limits for template could be that it doesn't save triggers ,units, and\or set up. The limits to this could make this easier to implement into the game and promote map making.

i see but practically i dont understand what templace would be saved: can u give example templates?

i designed a few maps and there were nothing on them what i could place from a template, all was different.

sorry maybe i dont understand the usage.

If I had already build a draft, I could "save" it as a template and use the template in another draft to create the same place and without the usual tedious delay of having to build the terrain exactly the same way as it was done in the other draft.

This would help build storylines theme settings

So if you want to make two maps of the same area, you can do this more easily instead of creating them from scratch.

Or have pre made areas such as:

-An area filled with desert tiles.
-An area filled with water tiles.
-A pre made area with terrain already made, such as islands.

This could reduce the number of maps with blank grass areas, as it would be easier for people to create maps.

I would love to see this implemented into the game. I am absolutely terrible at map design but I am fantastic at story design. Everytime I start making a map, I get cold feet because of the daunting task of designing an aesthetically pleasant map. To fit the story and the battle and usually end up throwing it away

On second thought, you could possibly end up with a lot of campaign deja-vu.
