Warcraft Campaing 'remastered'

Post by Patrol3110 »

Hi, i noticed that the warcraft campaing is not done to its finest and has custom lore. I would like to remake the campaing to match the actual lore and to make it better. Can i get permission to do it? Thanks in advance.

If anybody is still interested, im still working on the campaing but i bumped into a problem. So as you know, warcraft has side quests which are optional, and i dont know what to do with them to make them work effectivelly. For example; a map takes 37 turns to complete if you do all side quests, but if you skip them you can complete the map in 14 turns. I have a few ideas on how to solve this.
1. Make the side quests be unskippable (undestructable walls)
2. Leave out the minor side quests but keep the big ones
3. Make it so that you have to complete at least 1 side quest before you can finish the main quest
4.Completely leave out side quests
5. Make the map extremaly hard without rewards from side quests
Write your oppinion, make another option yourself if you want to.

You know what could be a great option, if we have those chest full of gems at the end of those side quest, it would justify going out and doing them to get more gems.

That is kind of what i was thinking about. Making a "side quest" system for campaings, each side quest giving a gem for completing. But then i thought how much work that would take. I dont know, maybe just add easter eggs for completing a side quest instead.

Perhaps give them units or abilities who knows.

Make side quests optional, but directly assist in the main goal. For example, a "rescue my husband" quest may take approximately 10 turns out of the way, but then you find out that the dwarf miner you rescued just happened to have enough explosives stashed away to wipe out 75% of the enemy's defenses, leaving just rubble blocking your army where 5 castles and a wall were. 10 turns of light fighting saves you probably just as much time and many more troops in the end. Other options include a reward of elite troops or large amounts of money couriers.

So option 5? It sounds the most reasonable anyways, i already made the first map, ill start working on the next ones tomorow.I would post a screeshot of the map but its size is too large. Anyways, ill start sending the maps to daniel once i make at least 3.

Yeah I meant something like that, it's like one of my maps that I made. If you destroyed some certain chests you get rewarded with armor or sharpness but also enemies attack you.
