Btw, may I suggest a name change? Age of Gunpowder (AoGp, not to be confused with Age of Galaxy) seems more accuarate.
You right but new time is a historical period from ~1500-1914 AD, but Galaxy age yet come (Maybe you right)

Sounds great, a 1400-1800 sounds perfect imo.

Well I'm not an expert either.
Question: is the game gonna be focused on colonial wars? I'm not saying it shouldn't include them, but in 1400-1800 period there were a plenty of interesting wars in Europe - like most of Great Northern Wars, Thirty years war, part of Hundred years war, War of Spanish Succession, war of Holy league vs the Ottomans etc, that were historically and military significant wars.

Also what factions are we going to include? If you ask me, France, Great Britain, Spain, Austria, Prussia and Russian are must have, would be great to have Ottomans, Sweden, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Portugal, maybe Danemark... I'm not sure if native Americans can really make an playable faction, making them as neutrals seems more accurate. Not sure if we should include any Asian nations, it might be too ambitious.

I was thinking to make it about 30 years war (in spanish is known as "Guerra de los 30 años", maybe in english it has another name) also wars against otomans
So the factions shoul be european
That could give us the name "Age of Europe Rise"

Also, we could add colony factions
Each colony has native warriors that unlocks with some tech of diplomacy or structure related

I agree with you 30 year war (1618-1648) may be in this game +could you help me with pixel art, when i tried to draw conquistador i draw something more like to... (i could not do this)

I have a lot of ideas to share
About gameplay, i was thinking on cities (where a player starts a game) and villages (similar to cities but worse)
Each of them have building space for upgrades
Then u can make a military industrial city or focused on economy
About resources, i was thinking on gold and cities/villages
Gold wont be stockable, but it works as a population limit
Then, some units cost a lot of gold to keep
Cities and villages give gold but u can also get it with some buildings
U can also build barracks or other military building(also academies or centers, also farms)on terrain depending on the number of cities, they also take or give gold per minute

When i saw age of napoleon post, i got really exited and made an entire project by my own
Maybe i am just crazy
I will help whatever i can, including history (my love)

Maybe my idea needs to be fixed. Also, i need to learn more english to comunicate with u much better with more accuarate words

I don't think we should stray from AoS/AoF/AoWw mechanics too far - this project is pretty wide just if we wanted to add a decent number of factions including the units from a vast period of 4 centuries.

About that, I suggest we add the era techs like in AoWw - I propose basic units are from 1400-1500 period, first tech unlocks units from 1500 to 1600, and the last from 1600 to 1700, but if you feel we would need more it can be increased. Of course there can be techs to unlock specific units within those eras too.

I think you right, but this game will contain campings from 15-17,(+Napoleon 18 century) and every time urgade units will take many time...

This idea might be handle, but i don know how programm resources, but idea with cities,villages (and maybe port).
+could you tell me about ships of this period, all what i can found is they are prestige(giant, slow,strong ships) lineal ships (standard ships) little ships (pinnets,galeots...)(not much weapons,fast) and gallers (from medieval) all them armed with cannons

Caravels and carracks at renascense (idk how to write it)
Later, the scow (racing ship),corvetts, frigates and ships of the line

Also, at 19 century the steamship

Also add the shipyard ("astillero" in spanish)

I am also searching about "Ironclad" but there is nothing clare

For cavalry units we can have:
Cuirassier(shock cav wearing chestplate(cuirass)and using sabre)
Dragoons(rifle cavalry)
Hussar(light cav)
winged hussar(heavy cav)

U can read my gameplay idea
If it goes on, then we would need some architechts and citizen workers as worker and laborer role

Maybe wagons too (with a different style)

About military units
Basics are:
Pikeman
Late crossbow
Early musket
Swordman
Late knights (cavalier too)
Light cav
Marines
Onager
Handcannon

If we will have factions, then each of them will have others uniq units and unique upgrades
These are generics for european factions

We could think later on specific details

Some ideas

Grenadiers- to become a grenadier you had to be a very large, heavy set man, so this can be heavy infantry with rifle and with an ability to throw grenades
Irregulars- harder to hit than usual soldiers as they dont from up in large squares like the rest of the army, may e take less damage from regular rifle infantry?

Siege: instead of just having a cannon, how about many different cannon units, each with a different size cannon?
For example:
3-pdr(pounder) cannon- used against infantry and light enough to be easily pulled by its crew and can be pulled across tough terrain
4-pdr(pounder) cannon- anti infantry, required horses to be puleld so cant get across tough terrain
6-pdr cannon- one of the heaviest field cannons, pulled by a team of horses
8-pdr cannon- long range cannon, can switch to canister shot (shots that spread out from the barrel)when infantry close in
12-pdr cannon- heaviest regularly used cannon in many national armies, would usually shoot at enemy artillery and switch to shooting at infantry when it closed in
Bombard- massive damage to forts and other buildings

These are mostly napoleonic/18th century ideas

Without that, nothing works

Those ideas are pretty good, dont get the wrong idea
But, liek any other version of "age of" games, we need priorities

The time period right now is too vague, too many overlaps with AoS
AoS has units that easily go into the 16th century maybe even 17th, and the proposed dates for this variant is 15th to 19th century
Later century units like i mentioned need to be planned out or else this will just be AoS with less units :D
Alternatively you change the time period

Actually, when i was thinking about this idea, i realized that some units on aos are out of the game time lapse
I dont know what will happen
This should be talked with endru
But we dont even know ifthis idea will be made up

Yep, that is the problem, i really like this idea but AoS is a bit like an overgrown garden wall :lol: its spilt into lots of nearby time periods. I hope Endru will help clear this problem up, right now we can only hope this version is approved :D
