those are hills? I thought they were sheer cliffs...unpassable...

I always though that they where mountains?
I think it would be best to keep them as they are, as many people have used them as "mountain" terrain in campaign maps. If the they where replaced with hills some maps may look odd. :?

It will be difficult if we have to include everything in a 32x32 tile. We should probably make different tiles to "mount" mountains

Okay, I think I will touch up on number 3 and then start getting together mountain "ranges" for autotiling.

coolguy: first make some sample images - because maybe it looks bad in mass, and dont make the final tiles until we see how it will look - thanks!

This doesent quite blende in with the terrain. And it looks a bit out of place in the map. Maybe change the mountain base

Maybe you could add some transparent stuff near the bottom, so whatever is underneath (e.g. sand) looks like it is on the side of the mountain. This would make it blend in more. Awesome pictures, though ;)

I also ageee despite being a great image, it does not fit in at the moment. Maybe it needs to be sharper? And add some more stone/grass/or sand to the base?

To me it looks similar to the bouldars. Maybe you can make the mountains a bit larger and snow capped.also they look more blurry now

They are blurry because the example image had to be scaled down to fit on the forum. :)

New way to go at mountains: Use the current mountain, but make better ways of connecting them (mountain chains). Daniel's idea, btw.
Thanks!
