What are these spider user(s)?

Sometimes I see a ,,user,, active. It' name is written with grey and after the name you can see (spider)

they are bots searching the net to index them into eg. google search engine database.

I have noticed a Yahoo(bot) and Google(bot) on the forum recently! 
if you have seen them, please report here to prove I am not entirely insane!
If I ever get my hands on those bots ill wring their necks with my own two hands!

They're allowed here in order to index the pages for search engines (like Yahoo or Google).
