Gnome Fire Arrow Launcher

Post by SharkWulf » Sat Mar 07, 2020 12:00 am

    Cost 5 Turns
    HP 20
    Attack Power 10
    Range 4
    Minimum Range 2
    Armor 2
    Pierce Armor 0
    Speed 2
    Sight 3
    Action a Turn 1
    Size 1x1

    Description:
A Steam Powered Chariot with a Siege Ballista mounted on the back. Although quite slow and only lightly armored these War Machines are capable of lobbing Explosive Tipped Fire Arrows at long range into enemy troop formations. Upon detonation pieces of the arrow are blown away into nearby enemy units causing severe injuries.

    Notes:
The Large Size of the Arrows will give a larger explosion radius of 2 tiles from impact. The lack of armor pierce makes these units innefective against buildings.

Alex does not like "tank" name. Try to fine different one.

Also it has too high speed and too low cost for such good stats.

Updated. I increased the cost and lowered attack power to make up for high speed.

That sounds even worse and even more modern. It is not 21st century game.

It definetly is not modern. The first Rocket Launcher was developed in the 15th century. It was called a Hwacha: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hwacha

A Rocket is little more than a Metal tube filled with explosives. There is nothing technological about it other than knowing how to make explosives. If its the vehicle you feel is too modern i can just make it an Chariot or something with a Ballista that fires Rockets.

I know about hwacha, i do not need your history lessons.
What i mean is that "rocket" word is modern and was created only in the end of 19th century and combination of "rocket launcher" words usually is associated with modern warfare, not with chinese inventions (which even have their own names).

And anyway i still do not like idea of this specific unit.

We discussed with alex some time ago gnomes and later i will post guidelines about them on forum (when i will find that discussion).

Im sorry for making you think I was trying to give you a history lesson I was only trying to find the reason you thought it was too technological and I couldnt figure out by the way you said it if it was because Rockets were too advanced or if you didnt like the unit name,my description of the unit or the way the stats represented it.

Anyway I will wait until you post your guidelines before I make more suggestions.
