Why dragon riders are treated like cavarly ? - ANSWERED

Post by Menselot »

After some research i found that some bonuses against dragon riders (by pikes, spears, helbadiers) does not apply to normal dragons.

Also i found that dragon riders are treated like a cavarly unit.

I have to ask why ? It's my personal opinion that dragons that have riders to their backs do not have a weakness against sticks (yes compare to a dragon a helberd is a stick)....

If you treat them as bonus anti large (just like total warhammer) then why this do not apply to normal dragons ?

Are those bonuses for balancing reasons ?

Or just the game want to treat them as cavarly because of the "riders"......

Do anyone think (dragon riders) needs to be rebalanced (and how).

(if it is just the "riders" lower the bonus against them by 200%
THEY ARE DRAGONS with a human at their back)

Thanks for your attention.

It is something i discussed with Daniel when we implemented it. He tought it was fine this way. Also it is a pretty strong unit, very, fast, powerful and versatile.

This is its main weakness.

Dragon riders are pretty strong. I don't think I'd be too worried about a few halberdiers, unless dragonlance is added. And that's even with the bonus. They can easily take all but a dedicated force aimed at them, especially when a mage and healer are backing it up with double strike, lifelink, and some healing. If ever anything was assassin bait, this is it.

Ok i understand dragon "knights"

I guess you are right they are powerful if they have no weaknesses the will destroy everything they find (for me it is fine because they are my favorite unit but what i want will make the game imbalanced)
