Uhm.. Orcs don't need MORE sub races.
it will be enough to expand current ones they have:
Gray Trolls
Orc Giants (maybe add them Ogres)
Goblins
Uruks
Minotaurs

Ya, I know this topic was meant for those ideas. For goblins we have Hobgoblins and bugbears.

both hobgoblins and bugbears sound not so good and i think they are unnessesary ones.

I think we shouldn't add whole subraces all at once

I think that many can only have 2 or 3 units (for example the minotaur has a unit only. We might expand it later but it is not necessary to program every other unit in minotaur version).

I think that we might add bugbears or hobgoblins if some units make some sense and has its own role (for example we put in the headhunter as anti archer but we didn't make a troll archer since we already had both uruk and goblin).

I think that we might stop suggesting whole races/subraces and continue suggesting single units or units packs more related to their role than just their race. We are ending up with 5 basic warrior for every race that are totally unneeded.

Agree.

BTW That is an other reason why should NOT add all giants tipe units to orcs.
Both basic and elite giant already can crush things.(enough variety to not add ogres, and may Cyclops for miticals or map boss -)

That doesn't mean that we should put ents in orc armies and giants in elven armies

I mean that there is no sense in making cloned units with different names just for the sake of adding a whole race.

We might add more giants but they should fill different roles (or at least cost levels) and being (possibly) mechanically different.

For example the minotaurs will have specific abilities compared to other orc units and that will make it worth it in certain strategies that will make it different from other units with the same cost.

Even in infantry units I can choose between a orc swordsman and a two handed swordsman that are similar but different (one will have more armor while the other more damage)
