i think the 2 effects should not change simultaneously.

i suggest the hand being almost innoticable continous slow "around" movement while the staff is is doing this.

You mean a rotation or just 2 alternative moves that repeats?
I might also make one effect grow while the other decrease.

Btw, the effect is very similar to the one for the human mage

ok, but please do it only on one image and not all (do on the rest only if we can settle a good version of "sharpness" of such )

also try avoid this synchronous pulsating thing - i think that is too much, only one needs pulsation the rest only dimming constantly the moves nothing or very very little)
