Another good one - I prefer the 1st pic on this one.

I do feel that he should have an armour value of 3 though - 0 is not right for this unit.

Not bad but they are very similar to spartan hoplite. Especially the romans had a different helmet arent they?
And also isnt a roman should use a gladius instead?

What do u think?

Personally I like #1 too, because it is similar to Spartan. But maybe the helmet could be changed...
Thanks!

I like 1 maybe they should be the same as spartan in properties in health but has a little less damage but has more resistance against arrows but less melee restistance because they were not as fierce, and their shields were not as agile as the as spartan shields. Nevertheless bigger and more effective against arrows

I like it!
Maybe we could have the robes the player color, and the shield one standard color, though, like gray.
Thanks!

The spartans were known for their training and battle skills along side their formations, I think the roman legionnaire was not as formidable. They worked as units and sets of impenetrable shields and slow but sure damage output. So I wanna suggest we make this unit to have:

-Low Hp, say 15
-High High High defense for both melee and range, like 10 for each
-The same damage output as a regular swordsmen
-3 move speed to keep up with the main army of swordsmen
-Cost would be 4
-Nothing has a bonus on them except siege weapons
-No bonus damage to buildings or anything
-convertible

The way you would use him would be as part of the main force of swordsmen, pikes, and archers. He can absorb damage from towers and enemy melee units while archers can fire from the back and pikes can get into position to hit enemy knights. I actually have been wanting something like this, I always try to do this with regular swordsmen, but they die too fast and almost everything has a bonus on them.

This would be our tank unit that does nothing else but be hard to kill, this would make it useful as well as not a copy of the Hoplite (which is just a killing machine lol)

*Edit: Oh Patriod put up stats at the top, my idea is completely different, so if you don't like it, I can suggest a different unit for it. But I think the Roman Legionnaire is perfect for this role. It's up to Patriod for the final say as he brought this idea up.

Since Patriod is ok, I'll post what my version's stats would look like

Unit Roman Legionaire:
Cost:4
Hp:15
Attack power:8
Range:1
Armor:10
Pierce Armor:10
Speed:3
Sight:2
Action/turn:1
Spell resistance:20%

Bonuses:
(No bonuses)

units that have a bonus against him:
Catapult 300%
Trebuchet 300%
Ballista 300%

I think my idea is a more aggressive version of Patriod's.
His is kinda similar to a swordsman but with more hp.
Mine is like a full on super infantry tank, but with many limitations outside of his defensive abilities. Like a swordsman with super thick armor and a heavy shield but cant do anything else other than be a shield.

I like it. But I think you should either halve his armors or reduce his attack. As it is almost nothing can give him more than 1 damage which is a bit op- he will hit back with 8. It will take almost 15 attacks to kill him.
Thanks!

I think a stat finalising is needed.

My suggestion:
Power:5
armor:3
pierce armor:5
movement: 2
spell resistance: 40%

skill: shield wall-incrase armors with 100%, lasts until unit moves. It can lasts 1 attack, after that, it have tk be reactivated
it has a 2 turn cooldown
This is Hungary and winter is coming.

i am a bit confused, there are different stats,
and in the last stats the a legionarie will be weaker than a swordman.
is it intentional?

I think his hp and armor is supposed to be higher and his attack weaker. Basically a tough guy with not too much attack. But maybe his attack could be a bit higher.
balint, what is his hp?
Thanks!

BUT,
we should't make them too strong, because their strenght lies in the shield wall.
