It actually sounds fairly balanced, but I have not tested this unit much. Since it will be cost 3 I think it should beat swordsmen and broadswordsmen.

But I think it's armor is too high - lowering it to 3 and 1 should fix it.

You may try putting the Yari Ashigarus on AI control and you control the other units.

You might make it 3/0 and raise the hp to 20
It would become anti melee but vulnerable to ranged
