I think this is a great idea. (Being a big Tolkien fan myself)
I'm not sure how many player's will be familiar with the epic conflicts from The Silmarillion, but I for one would love to see them.

I think this is a good idea, I don't think I can really see any situation that the current Cannon is useful in.

I think it's an essential consept. But I doubt it will be in game any time soon, as I think this would probably cause a massive amount of bugs early on.

I couldn't agree more, I can't count the number of times I've been making a costly unit, just to have it all messed up by my inaccurate fingers. The feeling of frustration and regret is truly overbearing.

Well, the empire is very powerful in terms of troops, and have a lot more variety than the republic.
